There is time for everything. And believe it or NOT there is time for the Ibanez RG7321 7-string electric guitar. Ask yourself what would happen if you gave a Ferrari to a 12 year old? You might actually be culpable for his death. However, does that make a Ferrari a bad thing? Definitely NO.

It would be unwise if NOT stupid for a learner to start off with a 7-string guitar. It’s better to start with the conventional guitar and when you’ve developed style and skill you can then start to play around with stuff that tickle your imagination. Then, you’d have the requisite skill to bring them to reality.

Another argument against having a learner buy a seven string guitar is that he or she might actually be setting him/herself up for failure. We all can remember how hard it was for us to hold those strings down when we first started out. Also, you might ruin a great instrument because you simply do NOT know enough to take good care of it. If you are just starting out, a cheap but well-built acoustic guitar is the right place to start.
